RECS International can help you, energy suppliers as well as energy consumers, to guarantee that the electricity you use (either for supply or consumption), is generated by renewable energy sources. For this purpose, RECS International designed and developed the Quality Standard.

How does it work?

In the electricity market the physical flows cannot be followed. Renewable electricity suppliers therefore offer the guarantee that the supplied electricity volumes are generated by renewable sources and that these volumes are sold only once. A standardised system (EECS) for the Guarantee of Origin facilitates this. With the Quality Standard we make sure that the Guarantees of Origin are used properly. An accredited auditor checks this and reports about the findings publicly. Meaning that costumers of the green suppliers are offered the guarantee that the electricity consumed is indeed produced by a renewable source and that this electricity is not sold twice. The Quality Standard can be used for consumers as well. In case a consumer claims to have consumed renewable electricity this also needs to be checked by an independent auditor that reports publicly.

RECS International introduces the Quality Standard for suppliers that want to proof that they indeed supply electricity from renewable energy sources. Also, the Quality Standard is the proof for consumers that they consume electricity generated by renewable energy sources. In both cases, the Quality Standard gives proof of the origin of the green electricity.
